Voice Search : The New Search Engine

Jan 28, 2019 | Digital Marketing Strategy

Many prefer the comfort of their house while shopping for the products that they need. People are still amazed by the amount and the diversity of the products and services that are available on the internet. In fact, the steady ascension of big online companies such as Amazon, Ebay and Aliexpress proves that online shopping trend is not going to fade away but will grow and expand. Yet, with the inauguration of the voice search and the voice activated devices, online shopping will become easier and accessible for all which will accommodate the buying process for the customers.
With more than 500 million users of Apple’s Siri and 27 million devices sold of Amazon Alexa and google assistant, more and more technology lovers are getting used to voice-activate devices and are pleased to talk to them and count on them while doing their daily tasks such driving, cooking and running. Indeed, a study from Narvar Consumer Report done in 2017 shows that the digital assistant and voice activated devices are already used for shopping purposes by more than 29% of its prospects. Moreover, it is expected that 41% of the users will start using the voice activated options to shop online in the future which means that 7 over 10 of the owners of the digital assistant devices will be shopping using the voice activated feature.
While using the new advanced technology of voice search for shopping purposes, customers will have a more reliable and convenient shopping since it will select and organize the best offers that will match the preferences of the customers by analyzing the available data gathered by the device through their past online searches. Moreover, if the customer is satisfied by a certain product, voice search will facilitate the repurchase of it since it has already registered the data in the device’s history. Reviewing the product or service purchased will also be easier for the consumers since the digital assistant device will ask directly the customers about their satisfaction of the product or service and the rating that they would give it.
In order to implement the voice search as feature in your digital marketing, it is important to define a concise voice engine optimization strategy where setting up a list of well define and precise keywords related to voice search with the specific conversational tones. It is also important to design some interrogative toned keywords since most voice searches are questions. Also, it is important to analyze your audience by preparing a well-defined and designed persona-buyer in order to know how your potential customer might ask for your type product and have a higher probability to appear in the customers’ voice search result.
Therefore, it is important to adapt to this new technological trend since, by 2022, it is estimated that the purchases done through voice search devices will escalate to $40 billions.
